One of the biggest challenges in the bodybuilding and fitness world has always been abs. They require much more work than the rest of the muscle groups since they are active in almost every exercise. Ab rollers are my favorite tools for ab exercises because they are simple and effective, and give my abdomen the burn that I can’t get in any other way.

After the workout, I can tell I felt the burn both in my upper and lower abs. In addition to that, shoulders and arms got a bit toned as well. The versatility of this machine is excellent. You can perform numerous of different exercises for upper body with it. It’s very compact and takes up so little space. It was fun using it but, as a more advanced trainee, I found the exercises to be too easy for me. But, for a beginner, it’s an awesome tool. It helps you build the strength needed for push-ups, sit-ups, and you can even tone your legs with leg presses.

There is a possibility to adjust the level of resistance – when I turned it to max I started to feel the burn everywhere. The only thing you might have a problem with is your back for some time until those muscles get activated. It would be a good idea to start with the lowest setting even if you’re not a beginner, just to give your back some time to adjust.

As for the construction and build quality, it managed not to break even when I gave it to my heavier friend to give it a try. Overall I had a comfortable experience with it, but the seat could be a bit bigger, maybe it’s just me.

Out of all ab machines available, ab rollers are the cheapest ones. While searching for the most accessible one, I came across the Fitnessery Ab Roller. Its price can’t be matched, and the quality that comes with it was pretty satisfying.

The grips are comfortable, and they’re not slippery; the wheel is made of plastic (what I didn’t like), but for this price, you can’t expect something else. What is good about the wheel though, is it has a rubber cover, so it should prevent any inconvenience that could occur due to slippery surfaces.

It came disassembled in the package, and you get three parts to put together: handles, wheel and steel bar. Assembling it is a very easy task, took me no more than 5 minutes. One thing also included in the package is a knee pad to make the stretching even more comfortable. Also, there are two Ebooks, which will be a great help for the beginners.

The only thing that I didn’t like is the width of the wheel. It’s too narrow for me, and I would like it to be a bit wider for better stability.

Now for some serious training – there is this Ab Bench that I got some time ago. If you want to get to another level, this is your next big challenge. With this bench, you can put a serious work on your abs, side muscles and even back if you like. It has 12 vertical height holes for the angle adjustment and the resistance. The leg rollers have an ergonomic design which helps a lot to reduce the pressure put on the back.

It features a handle in the middle of the rollers, and it’s definitely a plus when you’re on an HIIT or superset workout. When the fatigue hits your abs, you can help yourself stand up by grabbing the handle. The construction is made of metal, pretty sturdy and stable, with a powder coating to prevent rust and to provide more durability.

The bench has a thick cushion, and I noticed it from the first use. I know how to recognize the good cushion immediately because I had a few cheaper benches that had poorly-made cushions (I felt the metal construction under my back). That ruined every workout for me and disabled my concentration completely.

I’m a little bigger guy, and this bench wasn’t that stable for me. I tend to have explosive workouts, and it was moving from side to side. I don’t think you will experience that, but it’s important to be said.

This design has a lot of potentials, and I loved the idea of the possibility to work on both upper and bottom abs, and I could isolate the side muscles and work on the waist as well. There is something that needs improvement though; the seat area should get some adjustment solution since not all of the people will fit in it. I say not all, but most of the people will, for me it was just fine.

The workout on this machine was extremely effective, if my waist could cry, it would do so at the end of the training. I love that twisting feature; I could finally isolate my waste and burn the fat around it.
There are also three levels of resistance, so you can make the workout even harder when you feel you’re ready for a challenge.

The pads on the back are comfortable, and it feels like a massage when you work your abs. That is a big plus for beginners, the rollers help you to pull yourself up and ease the pressure on your back as well.

Most of the Ab Rollers feature flat handles which are classic and ok for most of the people, but some people, me included, find that flat grip is very uncomfortable for my wrists. That’s why I loved the ergonomic design that this Ab Roller has. When I don’t focus on the pain on my wrists, I can focus more on my core and complete a much effective workout than I could do otherwise.

There is, of course, the noise that’s caused by the spring mechanism that gets on my nerves, but I usually workout with headphones so that problem was easy to eliminate.
